COMPLEJO TERMOELÉCTRICO SAN TIMOTEO
Con la idea de atender la creciente demanda de Energía Eléctrica en el occidente del país, CIELEMCA C.A., cuyo Presidente es el distinguido Ingeniero Blas Herrera Pérez, llevó a cabo el proyecto COMPLEJO TERMOELÉCTRICO SAN TIMOTEO (2010-2012), cuyo alcance fue:
- Instalación de un turbogenerador en el patio de la Planta de Distribución de Combustible de PDVSA, en las adyacencias de la antigua refinería San Lorenzo, (Municipio Baralt del Estado Zulia) además del suministro de equipos y materiales de construcción.
- Balance de Planta y sus instalaciones auxiliares, incluyendo la adecuación de las Sub-estaciones San Lorenzo y San Timoteo.
- Adecuación de la Línea de transmisión.
La población de San Timoteo se encuentra en el Estado Zulia, a las orillas del Lago de Maracaibo, enmarcada entre dos río Misoa al Norte y Motatatán al Sur. A pesar de ser una ciudad pequeña tiene un patio de tanque y un muelle para la industria petrolera. Allí, la empresa Caribbean Petroleum Co. fundó la primera refinería petrolera llamada San Lorenzo, cuyo primer pozo, Zumaque I, llegó a producir hasta 2500 barriles diarios.
Muy cerca se encuentra la conocida población Mene Grande. Mene es el nombre que daban los pueblos indígenas originarios al petróleo, por lo cual Mene Grande vendría a significar «gran emanación de petróleo».
A diferencia de la mayoría de los pueblos situados en la Costa Oriental del Lago de Maracaibo, sus calles están ordenadas en ángulo recto, teniendo así un ordenamiento urbano regulado. Cuenta con estadio de fútbol, iglesia, escuelas, liceos, hospital e infraestructura, ya que fue promovida para los empleados de las empresas de explotación petrolera.
Viene al caso recordar que CIELEMCA C.A., una empresa venezolana fundada en 1974, cuenta con la más alta tecnología y el talento humano. Su Presidnte, el Ingeniero Blas Herrera Pérez, hoy puede hablar con orgullo de 43 años de trabajo, traducidos en: 2.190 Km de Líneas de transmisión, 19 Sub-estaciones eléctricas, 3 Plantas de Generación Eléctrica y 8 Transformadores de potencia.
Evidentemente, CIELEMCA C.A. ha dejado una huella en Venezuela y el optimismo y la energía de Blas Herrera Pérez, se han convertido en bienestar para los venezolanos.
